"I figured if we were going to ask you about stuff you don't know about, we'd start with the big stuff," Gaetz said. "So, do you know how they plan to pay for Medicare-for-all?"

Ted walked away, and said it was one of the biggest regrets of his career, because if they had started even from Nixon's plan then, we might have something close, or at least way closer, to universal health care now.

(18,486 posts)Some people are question why the Democrats called John Dean to testify, suggesting he's an irrelevant has-been.
But in the political space he's a "draw" and he obviously is quick and thorough. I can't imagine too many other people with his substance and depth who would have managed to be talked about this much in the 24 hours after his testimony.
