He acts as if he can just snap his fingers and the problem is solved?

(11,738 posts)He is from a time in politics prior to Fox News and the right wing media sphere. He was at the apex of political activity during the 1980's when he was a staffer for Tip O'Neill. There were always partisan players but at that time the electorate largely drew its information from the same media sources and engagement in politics was higher because it was politics, not just another media commodity.
Matthews tries to apply the rules and logic of that time period to today and is often wrong in his analysis. He shows moments where he grasps things, but for the most part he is like the man wearing the sandwich sign telling people to repent, or like the fool on the hill sitting there waiting for someone to ask him how things were back in the "good ole days".

(51,571 posts)I'm starting to think he might be right. I used to think she was slow walking it, waiting for impeachment momentum to build. But now it appears she is trying to tamp down the momentum. And after her comment today about being "done with [Trump]" it appears she wants to "move on."
I really REALLY hope Tweety is wrong, but it's not looking good.
