Nancy's Plan

PLEASE READ! I did not write this but it is perhaps food for thought...

Here's the thing Nancy is doing, she knows Trump will never be convicted in the senate because Mitch is a piece of shit. So there was this one time when Nixon was about to be impeached but he resigned and then another scumbag Republican pardoned him to keep him from going to prison.
So say Trump is impeached and a miracle happens and he is convicted in the senate. Pence becomes president. What do you think the odds are he will pardon Trump? I would put it north of 100%.

Say Nancy does nothing. Trump loses the 2020 election. He and Pence are out of power and guess what? You can't pardon someone who has no criminal charges against them. So Trump flies back to New York. Then three districts file indictments against Trump and his family or Democrats pass the special prosecutor statute again.

Now there's nobody who can pardon Trump and his entire family goes to trial, they're convicted and they go to prison. I don't like waiting anymore than you. I want those Republican traitors to wear their vote in the senate like an albatross so we can use that against those disgusting hypocrites.

What's the best outcome here? Let's not be emotional. Let's be cool, calm and cunning. It will take a year or more to get the impeachment to the senate. We are right near election time. If we use Biden's numbers, he wins the states Hillary won and takes Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. We have the presidency again which means we have the Justice Department. The AG can change that policy that a president can be indicted. The US attorneys are no longer Trump appointees and the full weight of the American rule of law starts prosecuting the Trumps on RICO charges.

I want them all in prison. I want Trump to die in prison. Impeaching him before he leaves office means he can pardon himself or allow Pence to pardon them for any offenses he is indicted for. If we wait, no more Gerold Ford bullshit setting this criminal free.

That's what Nancy is thinking and she's right. It's better to wait and send him to prison. What could possibly be worse for them than that? So let's keep our eye on the prize.

3. Suspicion here is, the Speaker is keeping her options open.

Keep powder of formal 'impeachment' dry, and not risk it all, as so eagerly sought by some - for an embarrassingly long time.

See what seems to work best, as each season comes and goes.

Right now trump's situation keeps getting darker, court decisions going against him, information against trump ever more damning, trump helps hurting himself as he usually does, his own polls going down. The trend is going the Speaker's way. Never mind much the Prez candidates, and others, trying to help themselves, and helping trump in the short term.

Very complicated situations, and Pelosi, and the relatively quiet Schumer, and Committee Members, carefully keeping abreast and moving delberately where it helps.

Speaker, captaining the Dem Ship, in complicated weather and other hazards - no quick fixes.

Trump steals the election. Or just wins it because American voters see the Democrats as weak.

Impeaching Trump does not prevent the same corrupt gang and Putin from stealing again. Moot point.
The solution is to show voters open to it that Trump is a corrupt criminal and that means investigation and hearings with or without impeachment.

It IS possible to pardon someone who has no charges pending against them. Presidents can pardon a person for past actions, even if they haven't yet been charged.

Uh. Yes you can. Nixon was given a full pardon and he never had charges brought against him.

8. Sorry, that is just so convoluted. This - "if he does/thinks this, we "will do/think this",

Hypothetically guessing about a maniac's motives/actions is sheer madness.

Pelosi has two motives for her inaction (green light - Let's go!). We will lose the House (if we impeach) and somehow, and someway "they" will get the better of us if we impeach.

Time for a passionate, unbridled outrage moment. Sadly, didn't hear it - despite the devil saying he would definitely take opposition research from another country. Lack of an utter and complete outrage is in itself OUTRAGEOUS.

...think so....we've got our best shot at them while they're doing their crime...the let's 'forget and move on' crowd will take over as soon as trump and his gang leave office...they always have, they always will...

...do you really believe trump and his gang will ever end up in prison serving time?...not on your life...

...remember, this is capitalist America...rich rules...

Not a problem. the end result of a successful impeachment is that the Pres. has to leave office anyhow., pardon or no pardon. Pence as Pres. can only pardon federal crimes, not state.
so, impeachment, trump leaves office, state charges are then applied, we win.
or
lose election, no impeachment, same state results.

there is also a 3rd option....25th Amendment

I am also hearing Pelosi's focus on the theme of him not being fit to serve.
That is actually an issue the Republicans could accept. trump is becoming an albatross around their necks as the election draws nearer, and 25th amendment would offer them a lot more protection than if they supported impeachment.
Getting him out is the goal. If she chooses the right time, she can bargain for the 25t. The situation now is more fluid than it ever has been, and he is cracking more often from the stress.
