Why was Stephanopoulos just standing by Trump's desk like a minion?

Did not watch the story yesterday, saw a clip today in ABC News. Stephanopoulos was standing by his desk while "his highness" was kinda turning his head to grace Stephanopoulos.

Was this throughout the interview? Why not sit facing each other, the way Trump did with Lester Holt when he said that he fired Comey because of the "Russia thing?"

What did I miss?

Have you ever noticed whenever there is a photo of people visiting the Oval Office, Trump is always sitting at his desk and all the other people are standing behind him? He must have a really small penis.

My guess is that most reporters would prostitute themselves in a similar way.

It was awkward. George standing to the side and trump straining his fat neck to look at him and respond to his questions. Weird set up to a weird interview where he clearly admitted to collusion past and present.

George gets slapped around a lot. In these days, the wins are scarce and small, so I'm happy with every little bit. George scored big, although today the day after it looks like nothing happened, business as usual.

But back to the topic, what's the beef with George? I don't believe he is (now, after leaving the CLINTONs) on our "side" per se. I sometimes chafe when he asks a Dem an ugly question, but like it when a Repuke is on the receiving end.

More than how he looked standing, my wonder is why SHITLER gave him an interview in the first place, since his wingnut flying monkeys are always accusing George of being totally activist/Left, which I don't see. On the other side, I don't see "minions" as particularly standing.

Also-- It had to be more awkward for DT sitting at his desk with George at his side a bit behind him. Possibly threw DT off.

If others have I am not aware of it. I know saw another clip when they do sit facing each other, outdoor. So what was this scene?

I don’t think Stephanopoulos is that tall, so I would have expected shithead to stand to look down on him.

So I kind of saw it from the opposite point of view.

The mob boss sits at the big empty desk. The no bodies flutter around sucking up and looking enthralled merely to be allowed in his presence.

The viewers get the picture.

by his minders who orchestrate each event to make the shitgibbon look authoritative, bold and in charge. People positionings, background objects and scenery, audio setup, camera angles all carefully staged along with tRump's clothes, makeup and hair.

I'd be will to bet they even reserve the right to make changes in visitor's dress so they don't outshine Donny.

We'll also notice recently tRump rarely smiles to make himself look more authoritative. For us it make him look more like the asshole he really is.

Both of them looked pretty dumb, awkward, and uncomfortable. I know it was staged but it was a failure.

But I agree with you that normally everything is staged like it was on the Apprentice.

Trump has been saying some blunders this week, but it isn’t working so good.
