Rachel Maddow and Lawrence ODonnell cover policy and events without relying on reporting, as Rachel says, trump says Thing. Thing proven not true
For the last week, every time I keep msnbc on at the start of the 11th Hour I note how long it takes before they switch to a clip of trump. It varies from 4 minutes at the longest to 30 seconds, today.
I write to MSNBC and tell them that as soon as I hear him speak, I turn it off. I dont believe that Im alone in that.

(5,420 posts)and simply report the facts.
A newsreader could read out either of these two sentences in the same tone of voice:
"President Obama received a Nobel peace prize for his work."
and
"President Trump ran naked down 5th Avenue and killed 8 homeless people with his AR-15."
Media don't put value judgements on their news stories. That is your job.
However, there are news media that editorialize a lot.
Fox: 'Everything Trump does is good.'
Anti-Fox: 'Trump sucks at everything.'
Middle of the road analysis: 'Trump did this thing today and this is what it means to you.'
It's up to you to track down whichever media you are happy with. The mainstream media is pretty brain dead. Has been for a long time.
Overseas news like Aljazeera and the British BBC are often more analytical and critical of Trump's struggles with reality.

I remember how hard it was to be able to hear any of Barack Obamas very meaningful and literate speeches.
They were certainly never broadcast in full on the TV news.
Now we have this man speaking constantly on mass media, making little sense and betraying our values in a hundred ways before breakfast. And isnt he condescending and patronizing?
I think that the mass media wall to wall coverage slobbering all over his every utterance helped him significantly last time.
From your name I take that you are Australian. Are you in the US, or are you not seeing the bullshit on Fox that we have here? Its not nuanced and its nothing near objective. Rachel Maddow does report facts though.
I read international news daily and on that point, I think you are right.
