(5,480 posts)Be a real shame for him to have to miss his MAGAT rally due to weather.
On another happy note...if this charade parade turns into an overtly political campaign rally, then the campaign could be on the hook for all of the associated costs!

(5,106 posts)They've stiffed a lot of the places he's had rallies, especially under the guise of calling them "presidential speeches."

2 p.m. - Severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood warning issued east and northeast of Beltway
Northern and eastern areas are continuing to get hit hard with storms, even as things remain fairly quiet inside the Beltway. A severe thunderstorm warning and a flash flood warning have been issued to the east and northeast of the Beltway as described below. Meanwhile an intense storm is dumping heavy rain and producing frequent lightning from Olney to Columbia and toward the north ...
11:45 a.m. - Flash flood watch issued for greater D.C. area until 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for D.C. and its suburbs until 8 p.m. This is due to the potential for slow-moving storms capable of torrential rain exceeding 2 inches in a short period of time. These storms will tend to pop-up and then dissipate in a scattered, random nature, making it difficult to predict when and where flooding may occur ...

(4,858 posts)...of course not... ...but wouldn't it be some sort of coincidence if Donnie, at a particularly "dramatic" moment in his parade...just happened to be hit by a lightning bolt? I wonder what his Evangelical buddies would say about that...?

(15,557 posts)but in SE Michigan it's as dark as 10:00 PM, raining cats and dogs, terrible wind and thunder and lightning. Hope DC gets the same right around the time the dingleberry is supposed to speak. Watch all the cowardly trumpsters run for cover!

(57,664 posts)2) Isn't any parade going on right now the one that's held every year in DC?
I've been drying a quilt and other things outside on the line all morning and afternoon, as it has been obvious that we were in for showers sooner or later. At 2:55 I heard the sound of what could only be V-22s. I grabbed my binoculars and saw three of them headed north up the Potomac River past the Naval Research Laboratory.
By 3:00, rain was falling in Loudoun County (think Trump's golf course) per WTOP, so I figured I'd best get to the Aldi. By 3:35 it was raining in Alexandria.
I think we're in for a big old gay rainbow, as the sun is going in and out while the rain is falling.
When thunder roars, stay indoors. I think the Aldi is closing at 6:00. I'll have a nice cool walk down and back.
My friendly, local Aldi is directly across the street from where the Scalise shooting took place two years ago. It was shut down, and its parking lot was commandeered by law enforcement for the remainder of that day.
I am not keeping track of Trump's schedule for the day. I have my hands full with my own chores.
Also, he's not my type.

(42,782 posts)We're in northern virginia, around 8 miles from downtown and while we've heard occasional thunder, there hasn't been any storminess as of 4 pm.
The weather radar seems to show that there won't be much storm activity hitting downtown DC although the possibility of a "pop up" storm can't be fully ruled out.

But I imagine if it's just a light rain, they'll have some sort of roof/canopy set up to protect him while everyone else gets rained on. ('Cause we know he's not too good with umbrellas.)
