Wait now - so is Ellen Barkin now a witness for the prosecution??

”Epstein’s pimp girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, a very well-connected
Brit socialite cannot just walk free. This woman is his pimp.
She pilots planes to and from the island. I know because she
told me. She is a sex trafficker.”

Epstein is charged with using his network of contacts to bring a constant stream of underage girls to his Manhattan townhouse, NYT reports.

He's accused of shuttling girls between the townhouse and his Palm Beach home, paying them and urging them to recruit other underage girls.

Federal prosecutors are expected to unseal charges on Monday accusing Jeffrey Epstein of running a sex-trafficking operation that lured dozens of underage girls, some as young as 14, to his Upper East Side home, law enforcement officials tell NYT.

He didn't get 'immunity', but it's a double-jeopardy situation, basically, unless something new is uncovered in Florida.

And 'doing his time' ... such as it was.

That's different than most people's definition of 'immunity', but ... you make a fair point.

So ... I wonder why the Federal Charges are popping up now? FL or NY shouldn't matter for Federal Charges, it's all 'in the US'

I mean, I GLAD they are, just wonder ... 'how'?

That's how they can charge him federally, because apparently current allegations are about what happened in New York, not Florida, and his immunity doesn't cover him for those alleged crimes that supposed to have happened in New York.

"If Epstein is alleged to have committed illegal acts in other parts of the country, the agreement would no longer protect him."

be tomorrow, exactly. Normally this sort of thing would the purview of the State it happened in, I would think. I guess 'international sex trafficking' is what the Fed's would be charging him on? Or transportation of minors over state lines for lewd purposes or what ever it's called?

But I would really think the individual acts with the girls could certainly be cause for state-level charges ... at minimum statutory rape, solicitation of minors, etc, etc.
