Every morning since 11/9/16 I wake up with the hope

that he's gone. In some way. It's a pre-awake hopeful moment. Expectant. Sleepy. But hopeful, full of promise.

I still wait.

Some day that morning will come. That wish fulfilled. That hope satisfied.

It goes like this: my husband, who reliably awakens before me, comes into our bedroom, shakes me awake, looks into my eyes and says, "it's over. He's gone. They've taken him into custody. It was the rape / collusion / theft..."

I'll unwind the panic and desperation of election night, and finally let go my breath.

I wake up and go straight to DU. I'm on the west coast so I know it would already be here. I know, I hope, one morning the news would be that he is no longer squatting in the White House. It doesn't matter how or why. He'd just be gone.

The real bonus/dream is that Pence would also be gone. And Hillary would be sworn in as the rightful president.
