The last 2 and a half years have highlighted how unevenly the rule of law is applied.

If you are wealthy and powerful you can get away with almost anything for a very long period of time. Sometimes you get away with crimes for a whole lifetime, or if you get caught your punishment is trivial. You can abuse the power of your office and get away with it for years and years. If you are poor and non-white, punishment is swift and sometimes brutal.
