Proud Patriot Trump Says He's Joining Fight To Restore Pledge Of Allegiance

By Summer Concepcion

President Donald Trump couldn’t help but turn red (white and blue) Tuesday morning upon hearing about a Minneapolis suburb’s city council decision to nix the Pledge of Allegiance from its meetings.

Trump’s tweet came shortly after Fox & Friends aired a segment on the Monday night protests at the St. Louis Park City Council chambers for deciding to do away with the pledge.

According to the Star Tribune, the city council voted 5-0 on June 17 to cut the pledge out of most meetings, due to concerns that some residents in the “increasingly diverse community” may find it unwelcoming.

The Star Tribune reported that last month’s vote was met with backlash at the local and national level, with hundreds of people calling or emailing the city to protest. St. Louis Park City Mayor Jake Spano announced on Twitter later that week that the council would be revisiting its decision.

"Restore the pledge?" What he is doing IMO is FORCING it on unwilling persons. I hardly ever recite it and when I do, no "under God." Someone standing near me asked about this one time when I clearly clammed up on those words and asked what I had against God. Duh...? The questioner had no clue that was done by a POS RW who was red hunting. Had never heard of Joe McCarthy. Gads!!!!!

If they really believed in the Pledge, they would recite it the way it was originally written--without the words "under God."

It's just words without real meaning...those screaming the loudest don't believe in the concepts of equality and justice for all...

Much like Congress and those enlisting in the military...they just mouth the words...without actually believing in what those words mean or represent...

of Allegiance. And I no longer participate, the increasingly rare times I'm somewhere that it's happening.

I'm old enough to remember when "under god" was inserted. I was attending a Catholic school at the time, and the nuns were not at all happy. They actually understood that it violated the whole separation of church and state.

are arriving, getting equal rights and especially voting, along with
the "foreign" ideas like "socialism", then there is an increase in
pledges, anthems, flag waving, victimhood, prayers and other
hyperbole. It happens with all groups, just some are more powerful
than others.
