The thing is, predators look on all children as vulnerable prey, and the patriarchy looks the other way. Because as far as I can tell the patriarchy depends on one adult gender being told its entire worth depends on the subjugation and vulnerability of everyone else. Even if individual patriarchs live up to some ideal model -- they have to believe the exception proves the rule.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a lot more underage boys have been exploited by some of these people than we have any idea. It might be even harder for males to come forward with this than it is for females.
