I like that idea a lot. Would Spanky glow orange if he lived there for a few years?

I have read that some of the best scuba diving in the world is in Bikini Island where they tested H bombs. You can't stay there for extended period of time or eat produce from there for example but for a few days cycling in it is not a risk.

It’s almost the quintessential “nice place to visit but you wouldn’t want to live there”.

Might as well get some foreigners to chip in for part of the new confinement.

These days, travel by air has become increasingly common, both for business and leisure travel. We are exposed to low levels of radiation when we fly. You would be exposed to about 0.035 mSv (3.5 mrem) of cosmic radiation if you were to fly within the United States from the east coast to the west coast. This amount of radiation is less than the amount of radiation we receive from one chest x-ray.

I used to make trips from Seoul to Minsk every quarter for work, and I always went via Seattle, Reykjavik, and Amsterdam. The shorter route thru Moscow never entered my mind.
