3. Oh i think it is political. The GOP is afraid of their base connecting with a leader like Obama

or Harris or little girls with a black ariel because then the Southern Strategy would not be as effective. That is why they run campaigns saying Kamala Harris is not black or Obama is not an american and thus should never have been elected president. Why Trump has undone so much of Obama's legacy in things like the Iran deal or is trying to to Obamacare. Why there is a knee jerk reaction to calling compliance officers when a black kid has a lemonade stand. The Ariel dust up has the same aim even as those who participate in it don't always know that they are part of a bigger organ that must cultivate each republican generation against identifying with anyone black in a deep way or meaningful way. It is political. Racism has been since the start of the USA. Why i posed this in GD rather than the Lounge.
