'Acosta Enables Sex Trafficking' projected onto the Labor Department building

Activists projected condemnations of Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta on the Department of Labor building Wednesday to protest his role in a controversial non-prosecution agreement with financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was arrested again over the weekend.

Progressive advocacy groups, including CREDO Action, MoveOn, UltraViolet and the American Federation of Teachers, projected the words “Acosta Enabled Sex Trafficking” and “Acosta Must Go” on the building.
------------
In a press conference Wednesday, Acosta defended the arrangement.

“We believe that we proceeded appropriately,” Acosta told reporters at the Labor Department. “We did what we did because we wanted to see Epstein go to jail. He needed to go to jail.”

Behaved appropriately? Heh. So he completely ignored the rules about plea deals with the victims being consulted to 'behave appropriately' with his paedophile pal?

Right wing wankers club - normal rules, laws and ethics do not apply.

... but the rumors are that he's a closet gay. When McConnell was in the military, gays were getting rooted out pretty regularly. Maybe you know the real reason?

McConnell landed a favorable reserve slot because of rich daddy, bu he was honorably discharged following an optic neuritis diagnosis.

This rather complicated, gossipy story suggests that McConnell either wimped out from serving in the US Army because he didn't want to be sent to Vietnam. OR he participated in a fake-up story so that he could get a quick discharge. OR he behaved dishonorably, got himself kicked out and all the records have been expunged. There seems to be arguments for all 3 possibilities. Conveniently the officers involved are long gone and unable to shed any light on this.

The Dem's need to finance a ton of these incredibly excellent projectors, all over the nation, and finance a bunch of people to run them!!!!!!!!!! And, billboards, tons and tons of billboards nationwide, concentrating in Red States, especially the South East states and really hit it in Florida. Oh, how I wish I was a billionaire right now.........

AND, of course, a monstrous staff of ACLU attorneys to defend the people running them from the constitutional wrath of hell that will come down from Trump, his minions, Republican Senators, Trump's Dept. of Justice, and the Supreme Court to be sure.......I am quite sure there are a few thousand Democrat attorneys who would volunteer.....(BTW: in case you haven't noticed, the Repubs only believe the first amendment if it applies to them and corporations!!!!!)

Then we need a bunch of people nationwide, demonstrating with appropriate signs, marching around all the above personnel's personal homes non stop 24-7.

A pertinent side note: It use to be, that the Repubs would rally their troops for elections with the common: "Gays, Guns, God". Now we can make it Gays, Guns, God, Greasers. (their terminology, not mine)

Alex Acosta’s proposed 80% funding cut for US agency that combats child sex trafficking:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jul/09/labor-secretary-alexander-acosta-sex-trafficking-budget-cut

Alexander Acosta, the US labor secretary under fire for having granted Jeffrey Epstein immunity from federal prosecution in 2008, after the billionaire was investigated for having run a child sex trafficking ring, is proposing 80% funding cuts for the government agency that combats child sex trafficking.

Acosta’s plan to slash funding of a critical federal agency in the fight against the sexual exploitation of children is contained in his financial plans for the Department of Labor for fiscal year 2020. In it, he proposes decimating the resources of a section of his own department known as the International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB).

The bureau’s budget would fall from $68m last year to just $18.5m. The proposed reduction is so drastic that experts say it would effectively kill off many federal efforts to curb sex trafficking and put the lives of large numbers of children at risk.
