It is no longer a conspiracy theory when we are living through it, It is now a conspiracy pure and simple...

(34,136 posts)Though I believe the "almost" should be removed. Sure, there are some families in the list, but the women seldom are mentioned apart from their husbands or brothers. "The Kochs" mostly refer to the brothers. "Sinclair" is not a person or family but a media company.
So the comment should read "EXCLUSIVELY WHITE MEN."
ETA - Sinclair Broadcasting Group main people are all white men, almost all OLD white men.

This morning as I digested the news about the planned EO, the demise of the ACA and mulled the sad history of the investigation into Russian interference, it struck me harder than ever that this isnt something happening in the future. It is reality now. We ARE living through a coup.
I try not to share my despair because it does no one any good and improves nothing. But it gets heavier every day, every news cycle really. Children in cages. Child molesting friends of the President.
There have been moments when Ive been so thrilled with Speaker Pelosi. Those moments seem distant memories now. We need pushback and, like it or not, shes the person in a position to give it. Instead, there are arrows thrown at daring progressive brown female representatives. Im discouraged and disappointed and Ive been a Dem my whole life and vote in every election. Of course I will work, donate and vote next year. But if I feel beaten and tired, I can only imagine how others feel.
Sorry for the sadness.

All these white enabled self-aggrandized people have some similar goals and don't mind piggy-backing on each other's actions.
The conspiracy is that these are really just dumb primates (mainly white homo sapian males) who bond because they hate and mainly fear the "others".
They'll do almost anything to preserve their exclusive club.

(52,251 posts)a "conspiracy theory" generally implies that people are specifically having hush-hush secret meetings and have all agreed on the same thing. worse, it's been associated with wild and discredited speculation and therefore has negative credibility.
a "confluence of interests" makes more sense, because it doesn't require any actual meetings or agreement. it simply means that people with different situations and different end goals may have different reasons for acting in the same manner, or acting *as if* they were in concert, even if there's no actual coordination.
that's far more plausible and doesn't require wild speculation.

(518 posts)We the people!
It might not seem like it now, but I think we're on a roll.
I sense a new paradigm-shifting, tipping point underway.
A giant lever, slowly tipping, prying off the covers and cover-ups,
exposing the rot and corruption.
Stay hopeful. This is a marathon.
