The 14 Characteristics of Fascism , # 6: Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Facebook and Twitter have not been invited to White House social media summit, sources say
The White House announced the summit in June, describing it as an event to bring together "digital leaders for a robust conversation on the opportunities and challenges of today's online environment."
The White House has not yet publicly disclosed who it has invited.
But the Washington Post reported last week that the White House has asked to the event a number of right-wing luminaries who have been extremely critical of social media companies. Some of these individuals have claimed, often without real evidence, that companies like Facebook (FB) and Twitter (TWTR) harbor bias against conservatives and censor their speech. The companies have denied those claims.

Trump's tweets of this morning are telling, also: ( actually, I find them alarming)
(I've copied them in sequence, for easier reading)
A big subject today at the White House Social Media Summit will be the tremendous dishonesty, bias, discrimination and suppression practiced by certain companies. We will not let them get away with it much longer. The Fake News Media will also be there, but for a limited period..
The Fake News is not as important, or as powerful, as Social Media. They have lost tremendous credibility since that day in November, 2016, that I came down the escalator with the person who was to become your future First Lady.
When I ultimately leave office in six years, or maybe 10 or 14 (just kidding), they will quickly go out of business for lack of credibility, or approval, from the public. Thats why they will all be Endorsing me at some point, one way or the other.
Could you imagine having Sleepy Joe Biden, or Alfred E. Newman or a very nervous and skinny version of Pocahontas (1/1024th), as your President, rather than what you have now, so great looking and smart, a true Stable Genius!
Sorry to say that even Social Media would be driven out of business along with, and finally, the Fake News Media!

There to worship Dumpie as he crows about everyone else being fake news.
<snip. On Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump will host a social media summit that is ostensibly aimed at addressing the opportunities and challenges of todays online environmentbut which will almost certainly just be an occasion for the president to talk about how unfair Silicon Valley is to him and his followers. <snip>

laughable quotes from him and some swaggering. The news will report this instead of talking about Epstein. The comedy shows will do hilarious send-ups.
He might huff and puff about changing laws and regulations. I don't think this will happen.
