Counterprotester arrested, accused of wielding knife at Occupy ICE protest Tuesday

The Oregonian

A Beaverton man was arrested after he allegedly brandished a knife at people during an Occupy ICE protest Tuesday in downtown Portland.

Portland police arrested Justin Indiveri, 27, after protesters and witnesses reported that he shouted at people and threatened to stab them, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Court records show that Indiveri was charged Wednesday with unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of menacing, and disorderly conduct. His next court date is scheduled for July 18.

A group of protesters had gathered at Southwest Third Avenue and Yamhill Street in front of the Microsoft store. Brady Carmichael, one of the protesters, told The Oregonian/OregonLive that the group was protesting Microsoft’s contract with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
