1. There might be one.

New Orleans is already full of water. They've had so much they had to open the spillways several times and now we're getting it coming into the Mississippi Sound. If we have a storm that sits on us and dumps rain for days, like some other recent ones have, I guess we're all going to have to grow gills.

If all that happens, there's going to be a big shipping problem and gas might go sky high like it did after Katrina. I hope it's not a powerful storm, although we might get by better with high winds than high water. Could be a real disaster.

2. NOLA's issues aren't essentially from climate change

although climate change/sea level rise certainly exacerbates their problems.

The heart of the matter is the decision to build the city where they did then ceasing the cycle that kept the land in place.
