So Trump is going find out the census citizenship question from old records?

That doesn't make any sense to me, because they might not have answer that question then? I am missing the point of this or is he got something up his sleeve?

Putting citizenship on the census was entirely for GOP political reasons.

These surveys go to thousands of residents around the country and are very comprehensive. He is going to use those answers to get national and state numbers.

1900 to 1950. I’ve learned a lot about my husband’s Eastern European ancestors from that question. If memory serves me right, it asked citizenship, immigration status and date if naturalized, date of arrival and country of origin.
