Let's Talk About Those "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!!!".

So republicans run on this talking point all the time and they win all the time. Why? They only want to see one number and that's the number of people who are employed. They don't talk about the quality of work you're going to be doing. They don't talk about things like paid vacation, sick leave, health benefits, or the cost of rent. They don't tell you who you are going to be working for or what you will be doing. They don't tell you what your hourly wages and your quality of work life will be like.

You know why corporations like Google get so much praise for having things like bars and pools and pool tables and arcade games at their offices? It's their way of telling you "You live here now!". So go ahead keep voting republican and you'll never see the light of day outside of your office.

Republicans and Trump fans love Matrix references. So let's use that as an example. Think of it like the Matrix - you will live in a womb-type vessel with a giant cord plugged into your neck and it'll be removed when you die. That's where this is headed.

Do you want to work 20 hour days shuffling around a dirty warehouse with shitty equipment and overbearing supervisors who don't allow you as much as a bathroom break? Vote republican.

Do you want to live in a world where your skyrocketing rent and utilities will soon cost the equivalent of the GDP of a small country and you have to sell your internal organs just to afford something below sub par? Vote republican.

Do you not want to be able to take that vacation or afford that expensive boat, RV or utility vehicle that you purchased for enjoyment on future trips? Do you not want to be able to take any future trips at all? Vote republican.

Yeah keep voting for the republicans and their simplistic take on life. Your wages will suffer, your quality of work will be even shittier than you think. Yes you will be employed, but you'll be working for shit wages, you will have to pay for health care for you and your family, your hours will suffer and your overall quality of life will suffer. Meanwhile, your boss will make 265 times what you will ever see in a lifetime and you'll eventually get laid off for cheaper labor and even worse working conditions. Just ask the good folks at Carrier and Foxconn how well that deal worked out.

After two years of being an emptynester, I took one of those type jobs over the holidays and decided to stay on.

There is absolutely no way anyone could live off of the inconsistency of what I make week to week. Many of my coworkers are students or retired, so a relatively easy and low stress flexible job is ok. Those coworkers that need the hours end up working several jobs and it is a balancing act to plan and pay the bills from week to week.
