Welcome to Your Own Funeral, Republican Party

You elected a “pResident” who is as stupid as he is corrupt, as ignorant as he is self-absorbed, as vile as he is incoherent, and as narcissistic as he is inept.

I know, I know – you thought you could control him; he was just a presidential wannabe who knows nothing about government, and would simply say what you told him to say, and sign what you told him to sign.

But what you got was what you should have known you were going to get: a self-serving braggart who believes he knows more about running the country than you do – just like he knows more than anyone about everything.

He has managed to destroy your “brand” in less than three years. The ‘party of family values’ shtick went down the drain when you put a pussy-grabbing adulterer in the WH. Your ‘party of fiscal responsibility’ claim died the day he exploded the deficit to give tax breaks to the wealthy. The ‘party of Christian principles’ meme got blown out of the water when he locked children in filthy cages. And that much-touted ‘party of patriotism’ thing literally committed suicide on the stage in Helsinki when he announced that given the choice between Putin and our country’s own intelligence community, he’s siding with Putin.

You mumbled and fumbled when he insulted our allies, placed inept people in positions of power, put tariffs on goods that the citizenry have to pay for, and based foreign policy on “beautiful letters” exchanged with a murderous dictator he’s “in love with”.

I appreciate how difficult it’s been to have to defend the indefensible – not once in a while, not occasionally – but 24/7 without respite. I understand how hard you’ve worked to mitigate the damage he’s doing to your party with one political and/or personal scandal after another, with never a let-up in the deluge of cringe-inducing statements and ludicrous declarations.

But now you’re really beginning to appreciate just how dark that corner is that he’s forced you to paint yourselves into – a 2020 re-election strategy based on overt, blatant, in-your-face racism.

Although “the party of racism” is what you’ve been all along, no one was supposed to actually say it out loud. But now your “pResident” has – and in no uncertain terms.

There’s no coming back from this. You are now officially the party of racists, white supremacists, the KKK, and other organizations that your “pResident” has praised for having very fine people among them.

You can try to walk this back. You can try to promote the idea that he didn’t say what he said – and if he did, he didn’t mean it. You can pull out the tried-and-true talking points about words being taken out of context, about statements being misconstrued, about the “fake news” deliberately misrepresenting what was said.

But we all heard exactly what was said. We all heard ”Send them back!” from your “pResident” – and we all heard his brain-dead supporters pick up that chant and run with it.

So welcome to your own funeral, Republican party. Welcome to that dark little corner where the rabid dog you thought you could muzzle has finally bit you in the ass so viciously, it will probably prove fatal.

Welcome to your own memorial service, where friends of the dearly departed gather to mourn the loss of talking points that no longer work, cries of “what we really meant to say” are deafened by shouts of “send them back”, and defensive rhetoric has now been rendered completely meaningless.

But don’t despair that the services won’t be well attended. The majority of the nation will be there – wrapped in Pride flags and hijabs, offering prayers of gratitude in hundreds of different languages, dialects, and accents that demonstrate our country’s strength by virtue of its diversity.

The Republican Party is now openly and indisputably the Party of Racism.

That’s not just a bumper-sticker – that’s the undeniable truth. The face of the Republican party is now the visage of hate-filled idiots screaming that American citizens should go ‘back where they came from’ – even though where they came from is here. The image of the Republican voter is now the ignorant descendant of immigrants who rails against the inclusion of the immigrants they themselves descended from.

Rest in peace, GOP. While I do not mourn your demise, I am grateful for the chance to don my best red dress to attend the long awaited Funeral of the Century, and dance in front of a headstone that reads: Here lies the pitiful remains of a once-proud party - ultimately too stupid to recognize the snake in their midst before succumbing to its venomous bite."

It is fueled by racism which didn't die on the Civil War battle fields. It is alive and thriving throughout our nation. Nor is it confined to the South. Trump has exploited the lower nature of mankind rather than our upper nature. He is the ultimate demagogue and no different than those who called on Socrates death. When I see children being exposed to sheer hatred at his fascist inspired rallies I fear that the struggle will be long and difficult.

The end of the power structures that gave us Nixon, Reagan, Shrub, and Trump. Putting an end to those, thats a wee bit harder. Zombies dont like to stay buried, especially when they are in multi million strong masses.

We have to take down Trump. Preferably sooner rather than later.

But the Republicans wont admit they were wrong just cause Trump has to face justice at some point. They will just climb from one pit of lies into the next and keep going as if nothing ever happened, barring some rather drastic changes in how we run this country.

I believe all these repubs have been compromised. We know McConnell is up to his ears in corruption with his wife's family, the fact that little Lindsey Graham made a U-Turn after one round of Golf tells the story of "news" he heard about him that turned him into the creature's lapdog.

I believe that the creature and Putin have dug dirt on many of these republicans and now they are trying to save their skins.

My prediction is that if Pelosi finally agrees to open Impeachment Proceedings, that we will even see some suicides within the republican party, I think some of them will have a very hard time being exposed to the crap they have committed, because one thing we can be sure of, the creature will not go to jail alone, he will take a bunch of these crooks with him...I can safely say that the creature doesn't have one single bone of loyalty inside him, he will crash everyone he can, even his sons if he needs to. I just hope he and Barr can share a cell when all is done.

They are indisputably the party of racism and have been for decades, but I'm not sure I agree that it will be their downfall in the near future. Voters quickly forget even the most egregious of offenses and cycle back and forth between the two parties. And, for many voters, this is what they want. This is what they voted for. And many will vote Republican regardless of what occurs.

Who would have believed that we'd have someone worse than W on many, many fronts merely a couple of cycles later? And yet here we are.

I'm not convinced yet that Trump will be beaten in 2020, the only way he will be removed from office other than in some Liberal fantasy.
One thing I have to admire about Republicans is that so many of them vote like it's their duty and they're not too noble and proud to vote for a candidate they don't like. They approach politics like a street fight while Democrats insist on Marquess of Queensberry rules which too often result in having Republicans eat our lunch.

No, the tens of millions of Americans who voted for Trump are not going away, they will not be raptured to GOP heaven even if Democrats somehow manage to take the presidency and congress. There is not going to be a funeral for the Republican Party just yet. It does make for a good Liberal fantasy where if you really, really want something to happen, well it just must happen.

What if they paint America as being just racist enough for them to win?

But what if what really happens is everything from redistricting to voter blocking to tally adjusting via machines designed for just that purpose - what if all those parts of the elections add up to a stolen democracy?

In other words, what if they steal the election and get away with it?

What if they steal the House back?

What if trump is re-elected & time runs out on his crimes?

And the next morning the media reports it as, "well, I guess America is racist after all".

A majority of this country is racist, and Trump's racism is exactly what they want to hear. If the last week has shown anything, it's that racism and "othering" are excellent strategies that are a goldmine for Trump to use in 2020.

He's used racism in the past, but the more overt he is about it, the better it is for him. He could even openly start using slurs (which I believe will happen soon), and it's not going to matter. Members of the GOP see that this plays well with and fires up their base, so it's going to be a bigger part of their strategy going forward.

The Republican Party isn't dying. They're the mutant blob that fell into a vat of radiation that is now growing uncontrollably. People could recognize that the Republican Party is the party of racism, but here's the thing: Nobody cares. We've become so cynical that Trump seems like just another politician, and as long as he's keeping a good economy, that's all that's needed in most peoples' eyes.

If you look at the counties that have high opioid addiction from the New York post website, you would learn those are highly RED counties. In other words, the GOP are pushing themselves closer to the graveyard quicker and their brainwash mentality is now understood. You can NOT reason with drug addicts!
