I'm in the Northeast.
We are under heat warnings here, like much of the nation.
I just came in from outside. It's about 1100 AM and the combination of the heat and humidity is making it hard to breathe.
This is no joke. Try to stay out of the heat. If you can't, drink much larger amounts of water than you normally do. Even if you are not thirsty, force it down.
If you don't, you may be risking your life. Not drinking sufficient water will most certainly lead to heat stroke, and perhaps severe dehydration which will damage your kidneys.
No fooling, you can't beat Mother nature. Drink that water.

(33,346 posts)I've been running up and down ladders since dawn, but haven't accomplished much in the last hour.

(17,426 posts)I'm installing door casing today. I have an air conditioned garage, but I prefer to cut the stuff outside because of all the dust. So fortunately, I'll only have to be outside in it for a few minutes at a time.
Good for you for slowing yourself down in the last hour!

(33,346 posts)Just too hot. There's a breeze but it feels more like a dryer vent.

(17,426 posts)I'll only be 61 in a few months, but it's sucking the oxygen out of my lungs...very oppressive.
