He's lying piece of shit, and in an earlier generation he'd be exposed for the shallow fraud that he is, but he's a very effective attack dog.

11. Paul Ryan Calls Rape A 'Method Of Conception,' Echoes Controversial Todd Akin Comments
Wed Aug 29, 2012, 11:14 PM
Aug 2012

It was embarrassing enough for the GOP when Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee looking to unseat first-term Sen. Claire McCaskill in Missouri, opened his mouth in a television interview on Aug. 19 about abortion, saying it still shouldn't be legal in cases of rape because victims of "legitimate rape" rarely become pregnant and have ways to "shut that whole thing down.

In less than a week, Republicans began knocking down Akin's door, urging him to bow out of the race for the sake of the party. Several of the former Republican senators of Missouri, including Sen. Roy Blunt, had asked him to step aside, as well as many major players in the GOP movement, including the 42-year-old representative from Wisconsin and the recently selected running mate for Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan.

Days after Akin's controversial comments, Ryan granted an interview to a reporter in what looked to be a hardware store in Virginia and was asked about what he said to Rep. Akin, as well as his general thoughts on pro-life and abortion. Specifically, Ryan was asked about the issue of rape and whether or not it should be legal for a woman to get an abortion if she had conceived through rape.

"Well I'm very proud of my pro-life record, and I've always adopted the idea, the position, that the method of conception doesn't change the definition of life."

Ryan is good looking and can give a good speech. He's charismatic and I think probably very likeable.

His ideology came out tonight. He's dangerous and we cannot take our eyes off him.

14. How easily 2008 is forgotten

The fact of the matter is the reaction to this speech was nowhere near as visceral as the reaction to Palin's speech in 2008. The way that hall reacted to her gave me chills, and I'm not the type to be easily rattled. It was the lowest moment of the campaign for me.

However, I do agree he is a masterful liar and far more polished than Palin. There will be no Katie Couric moments with him, which does make him a much different animal from a tactical perspective. With Palin all they had to do is let her talk and she destroyed herself. With Ryan they will need to be much more aggressive.

But all that being said pardon me if I'm not shitting my pants.

economic ideas don't withstand scrutiny and he the math on the Ryan Plan doesn't make sense. If Tweety and some other media figures start challenging Ryan's reputation with facts and show him up for the empty suit that he is, he's finished.
