The Squad

Will someone please explain to me how these 4 congresswomen came to be known as “The Squad”. I understand they are freshmen, they are progressive and they are not afraid to let it be known. But I hate the term “squad” and it sounds militant. It sounds degrading to me. Maybe it is just me.......

EDIT.. I followed a link posted above and realize it came from the 4 Congresswomen... I stand corrected and embrace the term.
