They like mass called him on his bullshit about auto-plant closing in Wisconsin. It was some new after-the-action live floor thingy they did tonight that just repeated on MSNBC.
I dug it.

(20,776 posts)With his arrogance and hatred of Democrats and the left, I am surprised he didn't just walk by and give them the finger.

(36,126 posts)The point he made and that everyone in the convention hall understood him to mean is that Obama's stimulus didn't reach Janesville. That it left 47 million Americans out. His jobs 'solution' failed. This is what they want to hear. They want to hear that they will really be saved, even if it's by the same group that got them into this mess to start with.
Ryan and speech writers pushed the necessary emotional buttons. This is a confidence game. No amount of gotcha by oppositional media will affect their mindset. Only Biden and Obama in the debates can re-frame everything and confront this. How well, we'll see.

I wasn't saying that cornering Walker would make any difference to voters. I was just expressing enjoyment at watching that weasel squirm and dance.

(21,925 posts)when he kept dodging the question about how Obama could have saved the plant when he wasn't even President. It was hilarious to see him repeatedly accuse Al Sharpton of talking over him when no one was talking over him. It's basically all he had to say.

(2,198 posts)I think they let him off the hook. By the time there could have been stimulus money for Janesville, the GOP was busy decrying anymore stimulus money and refusing to use the stimulus money out there.

(27,461 posts)it was three against one, and at the end of the kerfuflfle he came out looking ok. It is a giant lie all around, and it is infuriating. It works because the unemployment rate is still so high.
I agree it will be up to Obama to figure out a way to handle it, I think he can. If he can frame it as "one of us is lying, which of us do you believe?" then I think that can work. Maybe he can do it at the debate. There is supposedly a rule where you aren't supposed to call your opponent a liar to his face, but maybe Obama can break that rule. Then again, Mitt will probably call Obama a liar first, in fact I predict he will.
