Headline: Russia got Trump elected.
Footnote: the message was delivered by a frail-appearing 75 year old man with a quavering, halting manner.
Dear MediaMotherfuckers, WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA???????

The "performance" was all that mattered. He didn't deliver his message in James Earl Jones' voice so it didn't matter.
Fuck those idiots.
Unfortunately, some on DU seemed to be of the same opinion.

(2,067 posts)The "It's Mueller Time" memes made him seem like Shaft/Dirty Harry rolled into one. It was a entertaining for us sure, but completely misleading.
So it's not that surprising that many were shocked at how he was not even remotely like the charicature we've built up. And that shock overshadowed the substance of what he actually said, unfortunately.

(5,124 posts)instead of the most important things he said is just ridiculous- He did not exonerate Trump, Trump could still be charged, Trump lied in his answers, Russia is still a danger, Trump administration was making money during the campaign from foreign entities. Those should be the leading headlines everywhere.

There's little entertainment value to be squeezed out on the Mueller report, and even fewer humorous one liners came from his testimony. The American public is easily bored, and as a whole is not accustomed to deep thinking, let alone doing a critical analysis of information to understand the subject.
For the most part, people are content to let someone else tell them how to think, point out good vs evil and deliver the current events with verve, pizazz and some catchy jokes. That's why Fox News is so successful in attracting a rightwing audience.
