Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI think Trump has had a psychotic break.
I am being serious.
What is going on right now on MSNBC is beyond anything we have ever seen.
They are playing his press gaggle from moments ago. It is video of a man who no longer lives in the real world.
Trump is completely insane, dissing every past president.
He is now claiming that "African-Americans are calling The White House and are so happy as hell" with what Trump is doing for them, they love what Trump is "doing for them."
He is spewing complete fantasy. The man is very sick. He is frightening.

(6,918 posts)But true. Sooooo true.
The Trump long lasting appeal is that he transfers criticism of him to his supporters. When someone calls him a racist, he tells his base the boogeyman is out to get them by calling them racists.
Being offended and being a victim is the foundation of a strongmans method-convincing people theyre the victims, making them fearful, then offering to eliminate the cause of their fears.

(49,009 posts)0) Even though you (and us) are smart enough to read around some errors, it slows readers down and dilutes the writers' points. Thus it is useful and a good thing to correct writing even if it is being understood.
1) The OP accepted the criticism graciously. What's your problem?
2) Writers care about their readers unless they write for their ego. Reference foundational point #0.
3) Writers who aren't in it for ego are eager to improve their writing any way they can. You objected on behalf of the OP because they didn't object but you felt they should object. Is that on the basis that an ego would have been injured if you were the OP instead?

(15,751 posts)China has been dissing and kicking trump all over the place, for a long time.
trump says, 'the talks with China are going very well.' Period. No evidence. trump walks away towards another topic.
trump also says, 'China hopes trump loses the Election, so they can get some _______, that doesn't know what they are doing'.
Goes to his helicopter.
Bizarre.
ScratchCat
(1,990 posts)And the "China" and "African-Americans love me" comments brought it up again. The "feeling" is that he knows he will lose in 2020 so the plan is to run with this bizzaro world nonsense until 11/2020 and then claim the election was rigged against him (by China) because there's no way "Americas favorite POTUS EVER!!!" could lose especially when African-Americans love him so much.

(49,009 posts)In 2016 he ran for publicizing the tRump brand and would always shift the blame for losing onto somebody else. Same tactic here.
But Moscow and Mercer billionaires were too powerful with Cambridge Analytica and the St. Petersburg web brigades. Now tRump owes Moscow.
But this bizarre statement about China makes me wonder if he has sold himself to them for their help this time around.
He tried the same "{China/Russia} hopes tRump (third person) loses the election because ..." supposedly he would be harder on them than any Democrat (or so he wants voters to think), which is of course nonsense as he proved by being so soft and submissive to Putin since Nov 2016. Further, the Democratic President Obama was very good at standing firm and staring down Putin. No walking submissively behind as if on a leash. And more, the Democratic Secretaries of State Clinton and Kerry were very tough on Russia. Putin did not want a Democrat in the White House for that reason.
China would prefer an incompetent easily manipulated president in charge of the USA, like the one sitting there now.

I always thought his walk was kind of strange; his speech patterns weird and his physical posture aberrant. But it is even worse now.
His movements remind me of how the corporate media hid FDRs mobility issues. His rambling weird talks remind me of how they hid Reagan's psychological problems.
I wonder if he will be allowed to finish out his term? Even in full blown dementia and loss of mobility, he is of use to the filthy rich and little man Putin.

(36,478 posts)It would be a blow to his enormous ego. I should probably feel bad about wishing that, but it's nicer than some of the things I've wished for this vile, vulgar POS. I wonder, would his base find any empathy & compassion for him or would they abandon him?
If his health gets to the point they can't hide it anymore, I can see him resigning & Pence pardoning him. Some people fear Pence more than Trump but I honestly don't believe Pence could win the primary. He is a robot & with zero charisma. It would be fun to watch the GOP fling poo at each other all over again. ~crosses fingers.

(4,341 posts)While we all discuss and go into horror mode about the weird behaviour of the creature, Stephen Miller, McConnell, Barr, etc. are working hard on their agenda and taking orders from Putin.
I have said it many times, and here it goes again:
DONALD TRUMP IS A DECOY, THE REAL DANGER ARE THE CROOKS BEHIND THE SCENES, THEY ARE DOING THE DEVIL'S WORK AND SCREWING US ALL WHILE WE RUN FROM SIDE TO SIDE ABOUT THE LATEST NOISE THE DECOY JUST MADE.
That is why it is so important to read history, contemporary history because the republicans have taken the blueprint, aided by Putin, from countries like Venezuela to destroy the USA. I understand that many of you fail to see this because you have not been in touch with the Venezuelan model, but it is exactly the same, the only difference is that Hugo Chavez had Fidel Castro as his mentor, the creature and his minions have Putin, but the methodology is the same. Take hold of the Supreme Court, dismantle government and place your pawns in strategic posts, destroy the Intelligence agencies to make sure the dirt you create doesn't go out and you are able to preserve power. Ruin education, destroy the middle class, and then the country is yours, and Putin's of course.
What people like McConnell, Jordan, Ratcliff, Barr, etc. do not know is that when the time comes, they too will be destroyed, they are just being used at this time, but their time will come.

(5,810 posts)I know that a huge number of people here in the US are convinced that nothing like that could ever happen here. Our democracy will hold will protect us from the scenario youve laid out. But if you take a deep breath from all the noise and hype and just step back to think about everything that has happened since tRump rose to power, that scenario makes a lot of sense.
So many things that wed normally say could never happen here are now business as usual. Nearly every day we hear some pundit on tv say this is not normal. We are in uncharted water. These are people with a lot of knowledge about our history and world politics. They are not just blowing smoke. If anything they are whistling past the graveyard. They know. Things are not right and are not getting better.
If we dont wake TF up and do something to stop this mess, we shouldnt be surprised at a damn thing they pull on us. (And sadly, we may already be too far down the road to turn back.) And I agree 100% that the people pulling this off are just fooling themselves if they think they are safe from Putin. When he gets things in place they will be history in the most sinister sense of that word.

(67,111 posts)their silence keeps him in office. Just the fact he got elected should be a huge wake up call as to what the plan might be.

(1,587 posts)term is not a laughing matter. Too man in the media are focused on what is said as a distraction, and not what is being done. The situation is way more dangerous than many have been warning. Putin knows he can only destroy America from within, and that is exactly what he planned, and what is being executed.

(3,491 posts)an emphatic yes. We've become a nation where 47% of the population are useful idiots to the 1% who control 60% of the wealth. The one thing I'll give the Thugs credit for is that they beat us to the punch in figuring out how to win elections when the tide of history and demographics were moving against them. Dems have been asleep at the switch far too long. With the reich wing control of all aspects of the media and messaging, is there any way left that we can turn this around?

This is a man who has almost zero acquaintance with reality. He's like a two year old caught with his little fingers in the cookie jar. He thinks if he denies what you clearly can see, then it didn't happen. In addition, he's a complete narcissist. That means other people are not fully real to him, and he can say whatever he likes about whomever he likes, and it doesn't matter.
