Did you notice that Trump did not ad lib any of his speech this morning?

He stuck to his script.

The Republicans understand the seriousness of the political situation. Trump seems to understand it, also.
It is very rare for him to stick to the teleprompter. This morning, he did. (Except for maybe the "Toledo" misstatement)

There was an underlying panic in his speech. He spoke as if he had just been baptized in a Baptist Church. He had seen the light. But we know that is not true.

He is simply playing the game until he can distract and change the subject matter. But this time, it felt different. His bullshit was not going to work. And he knew it.

The Republicans are in a panic also. Because they know that their fortunes are tied to Donald Trump.

teleprompter. It definitely said "Texas and Ohio." The whole delivery of that speech was halting like he was struggling to read the words or was impaired.

It had to be someone he respects, which narrows it down considerably. But at least one person told him to play it straight, do not deviate from the script, and you can have ice cream afterwards. He had all the emotion and engagement of a hostage reading a statement that he is being treated humanely by his captors while sporting a shiner.

I'd say Trump reverts to form by Wednesday.

Sorry to predict that, but a really, really dark genie has been let out of the bottle by the orange jackass and that genie isn't going back in.

Trump fed the conspiracy theories that some people had embraced. He gave them legitimacy by tweeting a lot of those conspiracies and holding figures on the alt-right up as thinkers. There are racists like David Duke that are mostly talkers, they won't pay a severe price. But there is a number that are ready to kill "others" and die while doing it and just need a signal. Trump being soft on police violence toward innocent POC and conflating protests by Black athletes with treason is the signal that the killers needed.

Just think of the slaughter of the Texas Walmart shooter has cased the store well? Well, there are likely the next wave of racist killers that are carefully casing where they are going to strike. I would not be surprised to within the year see the Las Vegas mass shooting deathtoll eclipsed by 20 or 30 people minimum, that is just where we are at now. Trump has lit the flame, the worst is to come though.

BTW, Trump was in a hostage video this morning, with him being the hostage. He was saying words that he had to say, but in his heart he didn't believe in a single one of those words.
