Apparently, the "OH, SHIT!" siren has sounded and all the Republicans, like their Morlock forbears,

have scurried back to the safety of their subterranean society. CNN asked 60 of them to appear on TV to comment about the domestic terrorist attacks and MSNBC asked 30. NONE accepted.

Honestly, a handful might have had logistical reasons why they could not appear... but 30, 60 refusals? That deserves naming and shaming.

It always has in the past. Hell one of their own even got shot, and that didn't change Republicans one iota. Just because 30 people got it over the weekend in two all-American Republican state bastions is no reason for them to suddenly get all concerned about the well-being of our nation's citizens.

I agree with you. Gotta at least send my thoughts about it to our senators, including missing-in-action Ron Johnson.

But 95% if NRA members support back ground checks for all. So, who is in control of the NRA?

Is it gun manufacturers?
Is it white nationalists and racists?
Is it Russian operatives?

Whoever it is, it translates to them being in control of the Republican party. If it is Russian operatives, that would really explain a lot about the Republican Party and the behavior of their politicians.

homophobes, misogynists, etc but rw radio allowed republicans to weaponize it and make it 'acceptable'

their racist base is small but we stupidly let a few hundred racist assholes on 1500 radio stations amplify it

the cultural shame and education that minimizes that shit is reduced when you let a few hundred coordinated think-tank (russian too)-scripted racist liars on 1500 radio stations scream all day to 50 mil a week that there is no white privilege, there is no racism, it's the white male who's oppressed, kneeling athletes are traitors, affirmative action is reverse racism, all the black people getting shot by cops are thugs, the brown people invading us are criminals and diseased, democrats are helping millions of illegal aliens to vote and that's why we need voter suppression, etc - and not only never say a fucking thing back but let 88 major universities and many pro sports teams endorse it with their logos.

But isn't it great that a lot of Democrats are getting some facetime now? I guess Dems only go on TV whenever there's a national crisis that Repukes don't want to talk about.
