Keep in mind that Trump is a New Yorker, and like far too many of them, nothing outside of New York City is worth knowing anything about. In my experience die-hard New Yorkers, especially those who grew up there, honestly think there is no point in ever going anywhere else, because their city has it all. They don't get why anyone would want to see a mountain or a forest or even more than three stars in the night sky. Too bad. They miss a lot.

But even more to the point, Trump is genuinely ignorant about almost everything, so for him, it's Dayton, Toledo, what's the difference?

There are the 3 C's, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Cleveland is the bluest, Columbus is The OSU Republic, Cinci a mostly red enclave. Dayton, Toledo and Akron are the middle of the pack. Ohio is too west to be east, too east to be west, borders both Canada and the old south. Lots of rednecks, and people wanting to leave.

There is no deeper meaning to his mistake. It is simple and obvious what happened. HE JUST DOESN'T CARE. He made the mistake because he couldn't read the teleprompter and flubbed the part that was supposed to be Texas. He saw a T, and just named a town in Ohio that started with T. What everyone should be focusing on is the fact that he didn't care enough to even know where the shooting took place.
