I have a hat I can't/won't wear. It is red, and has the Marine Corps emblem on the crown.

But I won't wear it because, well, it's red.

Maybe someday before I die I can wear it without people thinking I'm a racist asshole from a distance or behind.

My Dad was a Marine. He wore that with pride, until the day he died. (And even though he used to tease me for being a 'Swabby', I have no doubt he was proud of his Sailor daughter, too.)
