Really, Mitt? Health of the Mother???

In case anyone didn't notice, Mitt has quietly added the health of the mother to the list of abortion exceptions.

Rape, incest, life and health of the mother.

I guarantee he never said that during the primaries. N-ever.

To base anti-choicers "health of the mother" is baby-killer code for "recreational abortion on demand." No real pro-life (sic) person favors a health of the mother exception.

Granted, it's not like we were not warned about the Etch-a-Sketch.

But I am quite serious in saying that some independent group needs to be doing direct mail to values voters in swing states keeping them abreast of Mitt's evolving social stances.

1. It all depends on who Mitt the Mendacious is speaking to at the moment.

What, if anything he actually believes, aside from his own ambition, is known to him and him alone.

Back in the days of Gee Duh-Boo-Yuh...

A few friends of mine and I were hashing out an underground transportation network, to get women to safe and legal abortion providers.

We decided to call it "Handmaid's transportation service."

He'll never have to do a thing about it.

Thanks for DUer Warren Stupidity for reminding us of this quote from Romney in 2011:

snip>

On abortion, he said, “Our values must encompass the life of an unborn child.”

“The law may call it a right, but no one ever called it a good, and in the quiet of conscience, people of both political parties know that more than a million abortions a year can’t be squared with the good heart of America,” he said. “And I will nominate judges who know the difference between personal opinion and law. It is long past time for the Supreme Court to return the issue of abortion back to the states by overturning Roe v. Wade.”

4. Mitt is so cynical. He figures he can quietly ditch the pro-lifers now and move to the middle.

Our job is to call him on his Etch-A-Sketchy ways!

5. Mitt may have added it to his rhetoric, but it is NOT added to the GOP platform

He lacks the power to change his party's platform.
