I'm not sure I can explain myself here properly.

I've been thinking all day about this.

I don't advocate violence. I don't like violence. I avoid violence at all costs.

I am wondering something. I'll admit I'm not sure what this asshole is trying to achieve. I have some ideas, but I of course can't say for sure.

He hasn't been in office that long, but every day he is worse. And he will continue to get worse, day after day. He will pull his nasty shit every day, every hour, and I can pretty much guarantee you it will get progressively worse. It is something that I knew intuitively since day one. You probably knew this too. That is why a lot of us were almost puking our guts up the day after election day. And remember, at that time there might have been a slight glimmer of hope that all of his shit was just to get elected, and there was no way he could be as bad as we thought. Well, throw all of that out the window now. Even at this early stage, he's pulling shit that none of us could imagine.

So he'll keep pulling his shit, he'll keep making us blind with rage, and we'll keep posting about all of his shit. On and on.

But there is going to be a flash point with this guy. He's going to do something that is going to send people to the streets. Millions of people. Tens of millions. I'm just not sure what that is, and I'm not sure what that is going to look like. And most importantly, when that happens...it will be because we, as a nation, COLLECTIVELY, BOTH PARTIES, realize that this horror show has finally jumped off the screen and come to life.

What's it going to take? Ripping OUR kids from our arms? Banishing the Irish? The Italians? The disabled? Because I'll tell you what...he is incrementally steering this country to ruin, and I'll never believe that he is not doing Putin's bidding.

So there will be a flash point, and the entire country will either revolt, or there will be a lot of slow walking and crying.

Yeah, he will be voted out, I'm sure of it. But what is going to happen until then? What will the most rabid of his supporters do? I too, used to think that there are no worries with a bunch of Republican cowards who would not take a risk for anything. I'm changing my feeling on that now.

The people who are going to be the problem are the people who are so spun up by his rhetoric, are unbalanced to begin with, and are willing to sacrifice their bodies for their Donnie Boy, who lost an election because of whatever bullshit reason they come with.

Yes, he will leave the White House one way or another, but in what way is he going to snap his fingers like Jim Jones and have his followers go fucking berserk? Whatever that way or thing is...that will be the flash point. And I have no idea how it will end.

President Obama would calmly say that elections have consequences. So would many other people. Well, they were right. In fact, that phrase is perhaps the most understated group of words ever put together.

1. That is my fear-- that Trump's overwhelming need to have people bow to him-

will lead to him ordering his brain-dead minions to take revenge on democracy.

I lived through Watergate, and I was afraid then too, that Nixon would lead his fans in anger. Fortunately, they just faded away.

Trump's minions are so much more vicious though. They respond to losing. They like being beaten. it's fuel to them- the bitterness, the vengeance, the grievance. They like being vengeful victims.

I think they will be dangerous.
Fortunately, Trump is old and failing. He's not a general. He's a dotard. They will be all angry and looking for direction, and Trump will drool at them, and they'll find some great wisdom in the drool.

I think very likely there will be some horrible single-shooter "revenge" and a lot of domestic violence from Trumpers. But Trump himself won't be capable of leading them, and he's so narcissic, he won't let anyone else lead.

I hope it's okay. I have kids. I want a Democrat in office who will secure the economy and reproductive rights and join the world to save the climate.
I think it's okay.

Trump is as bad as it can get. But he's just one guy. Ivanka and Donnie Jr can't take over. Pence is a weakling.

We just need to get the vote out and get him out in the great democratic way-- in this case, overwhelming votes to override the suppression.

And I am horrified. The only way this can end peacefully is if he dies a natural death between now and the election. And even then, I am not so sure. But that is our best hope.

some night. Splat! If he sees he is bombing after the truth comes out about how he broke a zillion laws perhaps he will fear going to jail and do himself in. I doubt he'd resign (his ego won't allow it). But if he thinks he will be going to the Big House after the W House as a result of losing this is a possibility.

That is when there will be people in the streets...all dancing and drunk.

I don't think Trump is just a narcissist. I think he is a sadist. He takes delight in ripping people apart and destroying other people's relationships.

I'm lucky in that I don't have children that would be affected by these caustic times. Life has been good. I'm not afraid to die. The only time that I become fearful is when I empathize with children, good parents, and other people who love life. I don't have sympathy for the fools that voted for him---unfortunately that includes many in my family. Some of them voted for him because they are deluded. Some voted because they want to win above everything. Some people value competition over cooperation.

OK. I do have sympathy for the deluded to an extent. That's my mom. She sends money to televangelists monthly. She is part of the problem. You can't fix stupid. But these times have made me realize that I am not close to the people who value competition over cooperation. There will be a time when both groups of people will realize that they've been played-----even if it just before their deaths due to lack of healthcare, or food, or sanitation.

My spouse died in March. He was one of those people who REALLY love life. I would've defended him with all of my being. But since he is dead, I don't have anyone else that I feel personally responsible to. I'm a "meh, live while it's good, die if it's no longer fun" sort of person.

There is a sadness in knowing that Trump is destroying relationships. I'm thinking, "Oh, you silly, silly people." It's just life though. So, if it becomes too unbearable, I am totally at ease with ending the game.

Please step away from the computer and TV for a while and speak to some people and enjoy life. "banishing the irish and Italians" .. if you're trying compare to Hitler...The italians were hitler's allies. I could go on but I won't. Relax some.

And I always get a kick out of people telling others to "step away from the computer" for expressing an opinion, when those who command that actually have no idea about how much time the other person does or does not actually spend at the computer.

The mention of Irish and Italians was expressed as a comparison in order to stress the idiocy of targeting other groups of people as Trump does now. You knew that too. Didn't you.

Welcome to DU.

Edit: As far as "speaking to people", I speak to a lot of people. I use words and everything!

I'm seeing signs that people are tuning out. I am. For my mental health. I'm sure I'm not alone. I can see the pundits are tired and don't seem to know what to do. It's a steady stream of shocking actions. How do you report on that? How do you keep up his pace? I remember when Ebola stories lasted for weeks. Now, I only hear about what's going on during this outbreak on PBS and only twice since it started. There's no oxygen left. He runs the country like a reality TV show keeping everyone's attention on one shocking thing after another. It's 4AM here and I can't sleep. I haven't looked, but I bet trump has already tweeted something shocking. Just another Friday.
