IF you believed the so-called "Chinese Hoax" of Climate Change is an actual fact, then it would make sense for Don the Developer to covet the obvious value to secure that giant landmass of untouched resources.

Not to mention the strategic location of it.

Not to mention its YUGE size.

Not to mention the more temperate location in the future hothouse our World will become, with Greenland located in the cooler North.

If so, these arguments which support the wisdom to acquiring such an asset must be straining to bust out of his big mouth.

Maybe it will yet lol.

1. I doubt it was that well-considered.

Spanky saw a world map with a really big island, and he was told it was the biggest island in the world. Since it was the biggest he had to acquire it, and because he couldn't buy it himself he'd have the US Treasury buy it. But he'd go down in history as the guy who bought the world's biggest island.

3. Truman had a sensible geopolitical reason for considering it at the time,

and he did cut a deal for the Thule Air Base, which is still there. The US had already established weather stations there during WWII, with the permission of the Danish government. Once Greenland was granted autonomy there was no chance it could be sold, although technically it's still a Danish territory.

Also I think he goes by how large Greenland looks on Mercator Projection maps where Greenland looks huge and almost as big as the whole North American continent. Most people know this. I don't think trump does.

Mercator maps distort the size of the extreme northern and extreme southern land masses which is why Greenland looks so big and land masses near the equator look smaller. Africa for instance looks smaller but is actually the second largest continent after Asia.
