Anyone Here: Have info on Trump's Penn visit...

regarding how the unions reacted to his bullshit.. Did they boycott his Appearance? or did they Acquiesce to management in fear of losing pay...or using vacation pay...

Man... Where's the union muscle that us to fight like hell for fairness..I understand that a day's pay is a big loss for a struggling family.

But to me this is just another episode of how Management is continually screwing with Union Workers.

And consider Trump their Savior.. Until the Recession hits and destroys their 401s HA!!!

"It was understood some would choose not to attend the presidential visit and were given the option to take paid time off (PTO) instead. As with any workweek, if someone chooses to take PTO, they are not eligible to receive maximum overtime," Smith, the spokesman for Shell, told CNN ...

Altand Manufacturing Revival,” Trump was later criticized for pushing a political message during his visit, which was sponsored by the White House and funded by taxpayer dollars. He seized the opportunity to criticize Democratic primary candidates, saying, “I don’t think they give a damn about Western Pennsylvania, do you?” He also claimed credit for the construction of the Shell plant, which had first been announced under the Obama administration, telling the workers, “This would have never happened without me and us” ...

workweek, structured with 16 hours of overtime. Those who missed the rally would not meet the threshold to earn overtime pay of time and half on Friday, but those who attended the rally would.

Fisher also said the company simply treated the event as a paid training day with a guest speaker.

Some readers who commented on the Pittsburgh article said workers typically don’t get paid for not showing up at a worksite so the situation was a non-issue. Other commenters said “it explained a lot” and showed that someone needed to pay union workers to fill the room.

One day of pay could amount to about $700 in pay, benefits and per diem payments for out of town workers, the newspaper reported ...
