Poll: Would you watch a cable news network devoted only to Climate Change?

In this scenario, our network is a news-style network that treats climate change stories of all kinds as important news and covers them the way the well-known news networks cover the stories they cover, devoting a little bit of time to each story, or more if a story is especially important. Think CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC.

Thanks for participating if you do!

Vaquitas and orangutangs, especially.

Very adorable - and very endangered,

Anywhere from a few minutes a day to several hours.

I and my wife prefer to binge watch series on Netflix, Hulu and Prime and don't watch one particular channel.

I might watch if they did segments on how to prepare for the worst of the consequences, but it would likely get depressing very quickly. I am sure there might be some audience for that, but I am not sure if an entire network devoted only to that topic would be feasible. I could imagine it getting very "reality show" like quickly.

If I did, I might watch a little bit.
But climate change is here and will only get worse. I don't see the nations of the world working together enough to even slow it down but sadly little is being done to deal with the negative consequences of global climate change.

A cable "news' channel would absolutely not do so as I avoid anything cable noise which is nothing more than talking heads filling airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed.

If it was just about how bad climate change is, probably not.

I think it would be difficult to watch too much of Climate TV. I'd probably start out very excited about the idea of a channel devoted to this topic, and hope that it would inform people who are curious, or starting to worry about it, but feel like they can't talk about it in their circle of friends. They might watch this and learn something. But I agree with the posters who said it could rapidly get upsetting. Those of us who read a lot about it know the basics of what is happening now, and what is likely going to happen.

Someone on DU (I think, or maybe I heard this from my mother) posted something interesting Chris Hayes said: essentially, as vitally important as climate change was, it was "ratings death." Some people are fearless about reading everything they can get their hands on; for others of us, we can digest a bit each day before it gets a little overwhelming. But we may change and adapt as necessary. It might become necessary to think about this most of the time.

Thanks again!
