There, I said it. Rethugs represent the single greatest threat this planet faces. Yes, I said planet, not just this country.
There are a multitude of reasons.
They oppose any and all efforts to combat global warming, which they deride as a myth. This alone would make them the greatest threat to the planet, because their actions (or lack thereof) will lead to irreversible climate change, which would put billions of lives in jeopardy within the next century.
They oppose any and all efforts to clean up the environment. As a result, we would face dirtier air, dirtier water, more diseases. They actually MOCK efforts to try and improve the environment.
They encourage reckless military saber-rattling with countries such as Russia, North Korea, and Iran. If they had their way, we'd already be at war with Iran, Syria, and Venezuela simultaneously, while daring Russia to do something as we placed missile defense systems near the Russian border. We were very fortunate to make it through 40 years of Cold War without any nuclear exchanges or full-scale war. Seems like that's not good enough for the warmongering repukes.
These are just the physical threats the GOP poses to the planet, threats that could very well put humanity's existence into peril (not to mention almost all other wildlife)
