For some reason, I read "despite the strong economy" as "brace yourselves, the next one is coming!"

Why does our "strong economy" need an asterisk after it in an increasing number of cases?

Maybe it's a recession?

Normally annual revisions are on the scale of 40K or 50K. 2018's was substantially bigger.
