In the photo below notice the head thrust forward and the rounding of the shoulders.

(28,340 posts)a possible consequence of heel-wearing. Makes sense though. Of course many men get it as well in their very late elder years - but lots of things about Melanie, including her heel wearing would lend itself to shitty spine health. A lifetime of not work has probably left her bones as brittle as a stack of saltine crackers.

(13,571 posts)Poor posture seems odd for a model. But then I suppose her fans were looking at something else.
Yes, I know that it is also a problem for some men late in life. Sad. My brother in law is a sufferer, but nobody will make him stop driving. He can't both see over the dash and work the pedals at the same time. Oy.

(10,137 posts)it's too yellow for my taste. There are probably people who could carry it off without being overwhelmed by all that yellow, but Mel isn't one of them.

(32,084 posts)Multiple times. A quick check of Google Images will turn up a bunch of instances where she knocked it out of the park in bright yellow. It will also show her in some floral monstrosities that have apparently gone under the radar of the DU Fashion Police.
Michelle would not look good a lot of the Fall palette, such as the browns and brownish-oranges, and some of the darker greens. Which is why we rarely have seen her wearing those colors, unless they were accents.

(32,084 posts)It's a nice, simple A-line dress. I'm a fan of tie-dye, so I don't see a problem with that. The yellow is nice, too, although it's not really her color. It's one of the few decent things I have seen her wear. The shoes, OTOH, those are hideous. Not a fan of Pepto Bismol pink, and how the hell ANYONE can walk in those things is beyond me.
Haggis for Breakfast
(6,831 posts)My question is WHY in the hell anyone would walk in those things. Your sense of balance has got to be great to walk around on those stilts.

To be fair, she seems to be more comfortable posing in the nude than selecting clothes and wearing them.

(50,559 posts)Lot 1369: one atrocious orange thing worn by Melania Trump when her husband went to embarrass the United States. Made by two inmates at the federal prison her husband went to, this lot comes complete with a paper bag to put over your head if you decide to wear it in public.

(35,317 posts)When Michelle Obama was criticized, it was racist and sexist and partisan.
When we do it, it's only right.
Just like when we did it before Obama's election. But, of course, criticizing HRC was horrible.
Criticizing Bush I's family was fine, though.
Most people are buttheads at some point, which, considering they still have their usual butt in the usual location, simply makes them bi-assed.

(40,212 posts)It isnt a bad dress, it is rather cute. The problem is it is a dress for a birthday party or a summer get together with a bunch of friends or relatives. It isnt a dress to wear to a G7 conference with your husband who is the president.
I cant take this silly woman seriously.

(32,084 posts)It's the "getting off the plane and walking the tarmac to the limo" dress. For that purpose, it's fine, especially if it's still a gazillion degrees over there, like it has been lately. If she doesn't change out of it for more formal situations, that's another story. I recall Michelle Obama and Laura Bush making several clothing changes in a day at these sorts of affairs. They were often fairly casual when it came to getting off the airplane, dressing much like Melanoma. The next time you'd see them, they were in more formal dress.

(9,956 posts)... to get attention, that's for sure. I apologize because I've been called out for this before - but the heels are painful to watch. I'm sure her butt would look firm with less heel.
