If that is true, then why was there an empty chair on the stage, right next to the podium where Eastwood was speaking?
Looks as though this was a prop that Eastwood requested. There was no chair on stage during any other speech.

(73,631 posts)If they say that it was unscripted, you're correct, it doesn't explain the reason for the chair that was placed on stage before his presentation. Which actually means that they knew and it makes them look incompetent, because he could have said ANYTHING and that would mean that they've lost complete control of their convention.
If they knew what he was going to do, down to the doddering old man rambling act and they green lit it, it still makes them incompetent, because they allowed him to upstage to two most important speeches of the entire convention.
It was three days of shambling ugliness, that's the kind of ship that Romney captains.
