I have never really paid attention to conventions -- too much boring political kabuki (though I did tune in to the 2004 keynote, since it was given by a Senate candidate who some said seemed promising).
But this year, after that GOP debacle, our convention presents a huge opportunity. We can be everything Romney/Ryan hasn't been: enthusiastic, optimistic, honest, and specific (to say nothing of diverse). Plus, we won't be hiding our last president. The contrast could really be awesome. I can't wait!

(22,147 posts)I didn't watch a minute of their convention, just updates here on DU or on TV, but it looked awful. Not impressive at all.
Ours will be a good contrast and I have seen many (via TV) in my life .

(20,805 posts)....I cannot remember the republican party being in this much disarray, ever...
(Of course the "liberal media" will be more than eager to highlight any negatives they can find..)

(41,987 posts)It's clear that's their MO; take things out of context, twist them, and lie about what they now claim they say. They need to forget being defensive and take it to Romney as hard as they can. And there's a lot of material there.
If the DNC drops the ball on any of this they're fools. So far I have faith.
