Have you seen his right wing movies about Cuba?

For Love or Country. So bad. He tried to get funding for a new movie about Hemingway but even with Anthony Hopkins attached he had to come up with the funds himself. Right wing HACK

I like all three as actors..

is probably the best example of this. Cinematography-wise (is that a word??) it was/is a masterpiece, a real example of the art of film. But it is about the 1934 Nazi conference and a blatant propaganda film. While Leni's personal commitment to the Nazi cause is debatable, there is no real debate that her art assisted them in their cause.

film example would be Birth of a Nation. WAY reactionary/right wing/racist, but a technical/artistic triumph.

BoaN is indeed reactionary/right wing/ racist/ klan-loving propaganda, but it is an artistic triumph.
Woodrow Wilson was dead wrong; it was not "history written in lightning", but art written in lightning.

and i'm willing to look past it if the work is good enough. but if the work isn't good enough, crappy politics is unforgivable.

same applies for the more "right-on" artists. correct politics can never justify bad art.

I mean, you do have Steven Baldwin and Victoria Jackson, but if you are looking for those two people for genuine talent, you are a sad, sad person.

But Duval, Eastwood, Garcia, Heaton, Voight, Woods, etc.--I can typically watch a movie or TV show with them in it and divorce my political ideology and enjoy it. Unless it's a bad show or movie, that is.

The only conservative "celebrity" who truly turns my stomach and who I refuse to watch is Donald Trump.
