https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/459378-trumps-personal-assistant-resigns-nytPresident Trump's personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout, has reportedly resigned.
The New York Times reported that Westerhout, who has served as Trump's assistant since the first day of his administration, resigned Thursday, according to two people familiar with her departure.
According to the Times, Westerhout's resignation came after Trump reportedly learned that she had shared information on a recent working vacation about his family and Oval Office matters she was part of during an off-the-record dinner with reporters at hotels near the president's Bedminster, N.J., resort.

She was fired. When you're forced out, that's being fired. I hope she tells all now. nt

was it a different, perhaps earlier, embarrassing story (and there's a shit-load) about his stupidity and mendacity?
I'm curious which "leak" topic was the thing which set him off.

(10,885 posts)5. According to the "failing NY Times",
The breach of trust meant immediate action: Ms. Westerhout, one of the people familiar with her departure said, was immediately considered a separated employee and would not be allowed to return to the White House on Friday.
I doubt OA fired her, but someone did.

(53,061 posts)11. Really what is your source?
CNN sued (Acosta lost his WH press credentials) and identified the woman as an unknown intern. CNN knows Waterhouse (sp?) and would have named her if it was her.
Moreover I doubt that the physical gatekeeper of the Oval Offices moves from her desk during the day.

(7,947 posts)31. CNN says it was a reporter who told the Trump WH she'd been talking-
about the family.
Apparently these dinners are common and considered off the record, but this reporter (Et tu, Tucker?) said she didn't specifically say her comments were off the record.
And it was during the G7 and concerned 'family matters."
Maybe including how the patriarch was gibbering and drugged?
I tell you, I'm amazed this doesn't happen all the time. The desire to share interesting inside info is often overpowering. You'd think everyone who worked for Trump would be dribbling little nuggets every day to friends at least.
