(54,770 posts)have been the same, Mueller would have still let trump and his campaign off the hook for coordination, cooperation, collusion, whatever you want to call it. Those were the allegations that would have brought trump down, not obstruction.

(792 posts)whether anyone did anything that had the effect of curtailing any line of his investigation.
But nobody asked, and Mueller did not, of course volunteer any information other than in response to direct questions

(54,770 posts)Mueller had been curtailed.
Not sure how anyone who watched the Hearing could have missed it.

"The investigation wasnt shut down
"There have been conspiracy theories that Attorney General William P. Barr might have shut down Muellers probe in some way, but Mueller dispatched with them.
"At any time in the investigation, was your investigation curtailed or stopped or hindered? Collins asked. No, Mueller responded.
"Collinss question covered pretty much anything that could be understood as Barr reining in the investigation, so that should put this one to bed."

Before the House Hearing there were a number of threads here that Mueller should be asked about any attempt to shut him down, etc. Folks were convinced he was shut down, and would say so. GOPers shut that down very early in the Hearing.

(12,422 posts)The answer to Collins question is obviously YES...
That was a generalization question to solicit a no answer...done well by a slimy lawyer politician:
I also want to add...Mueller either needs hearing aids or turn down the volume of his aides answers.

(54,770 posts)Barr did not shut him down. I showed you where he did say just that, and you went off on something else.
Here's your response in post #2: I have never heard Mueller say that Barr did not shut him down.? That's what I responded to, and you obviously did not watch the Hearings.
Clearly there was obstruction by trump and his campaign. Unfortunately, not enough people seemed to care because Mueller let trump off the hook on every allegation regarding collusion/cooperation/coordination.

Its all on the House at this point and is (the American people) in 2020. If there has ever been a more important national election in our nations history, I am not aware of it.

(54,770 posts)I think trump is guilty of a lot of things -- crooked, immoral, incompetent to hold office, etc. But, nothing has stuck yet.
I want people to keep investigating, but we need to focus on the election.

(12,422 posts)If there was obstruction then there was hindrance to the Mueller investigation...so Mueller answered no to a question that was obviously YES...HE EITHER DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION OR HE ANSWERED IT INCORRECTLY.

Title to your thread: "Flynn is the reason Barr shut down Mueller." I responded that Mueller said Barr didn't shut him down.
Honestly, your biggest mistake was quoting Abramson, who is struggling to keep his blog relevant. To do so, he is increasingly posting BS that doesn't help our cause in beating trump.

(5,502 posts)I wonder if that influenced where they looked? In hindsight I'm very confused about the investigation. But I'm very confused about the last two and a half years.
Susan Collins is concerned. I'm confused.
I'm hoping for some clarity on 1.20.21
