Ammon Bundy vows to obtain an assault rifle -- after failing federal background check

Far-right provocateur Ammon Bundy on Saturday posted a video to Facebook where he vowed to obtain an assault rifle after failing a federal background check to purchase a firearm.

“I call a buddy, he says, ‘Yeah, I got a guy who can get some lowers for an AR-15 or an AR-10’ and then I tell him that I was just denied and he’s like, ‘Oh, that guy can’t help you, you know.’ And basically what that does is it forces me to go on the street and find a gun.”

“And I will do that, I’ll find one. It will be a good weapon,” he said.

“I’ll get a gun, I’ll build a gun. I’ll go mine the ore if I have to — I don’t think I’ll have to go that far, but I’ll have a gun,” he vowed. “I’ll have many guns.”

5. It might be illegal

Any lawyers in here? Is saying that you're gonna buy a gun on the streets illegal, or do they need more to nab him?

I remember in the 90's, my sister had a crazy older boyfriend. He told me how in the 70's, he told everyone he had a real mini gun, which is anything but mini if you know what they are. He said he showed pictures of it with him to "prove" to everyone he wasn't lying. Well sure enough, he got a visit from the feds. He told them to come to the back to see it. What they saw was a hulking gun on stands; a turret like in the military. Before they could make an arrest, they inspected it. Totally fake, and made of wood! They left and told him sorry for any trouble, as he hasn't broken any laws.

So I wonder if what Bundy said can be used against him.
