That moment when the dye is cast, you’re where you will be for the Storm, and it hits you — THIS IS REAL. It is a sobering moment. For those in the Bahamas, the moment is approaching and I hope they’re ready and have fortified their shelter wherever they are. I hope they are prepared for the devastation that follows the storm and the recovery begins. I hope the people in the US will do what they usually do and rally to their sides. This is a time to be humane, to be kind and helpful. Do the right thing.

Light a candle and remember those in harms way.

They are a wonderful, very highly rated group with practically no overhead. When Haiti had that devastating earthquake some years back, DR was already there as they have an ongoing presence -- and then sent more supplies in by air.

So far nothing si coming our way. We had a few hours of rain last week but in the scheme of things it did very little to fill up our reservoirs. I guess we should be grateful that the grass is green again but we really need four of five days of rain.

I feel so sorry for everyone in the path of this monster storm and Florida is not out of this yet.
