Did he have a grudge against the local police, and was the random stop something he intentionally invited with the specific purpose of shooting police?
What was he originally on his way to do when he was pulled over?
Had he recently had a major life trigger, like getting fired, divorced, breakup, family issues, going broke, etc...?
Was he on drugs? Did he have a brain tumor? Any medical issues or psychiatric disorders?
I'd like to see his last emails, texts or any document he might have authored in the past month or so.
It MIGHT turn out that he is a more textbook case of a mass shooter as outlined in the FBI's Crime Classification Manual; in other words, not motivated by racism, religious beliefs or a strong preference to harm a particular type of victim.

(16,616 posts)A woman on Twitter who lives in Midland is claiming that Seth Ator was hospitalized "a while back" for trying to kill himself. Her account looks real and she names the hospital as Oceans, which must be Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin in Midland.
