I know damn well much of the news media is all too willing to label Arabs as terrorists, and other ethnic groups as thugs and criminals, while calling whites mentally ill.

This is changing. It's going to take time, but it is changing.

I saw news people describing the El Paso shooter and Dylan Roof as white supremacist terrorists.

12. Actually, there does seem to be a difference.

With few exceptions, mass shooters seem to be white men. Gang related shootings seem to be a focus of the AA community these days.

Murder for profit, as in organized crime hits, could be described as thuggish behavior, while shooting random bystanders without a clear agenda is almost certainly the work of a deranged individual. Sure, there are blurred lines there in motive, but a thug defined is "Someone with an intimidating and unseemly appearance and mannerisms, who treats others violently and roughly, often for hire."

20. John Malvo.

AKA the DC sniper, the closest thing I can think of as a black mass shooter. They even used a AR15 through a hole in their trunk to pick off 13 unsuspecting victims. I know for a fact they weren't referred to as thugs in the news media.

The term thug is usually in reference to organized gang crime. White people who murder random people for no capital gain could easily be seen as deranged. That was my point. The OP is claiming it's all about race.
