Of Florida, the further left this monster goes, the more terrifying it is. I wish it would take that damned turn already.

For their expertise, thing is they have egos as well, common in any form of scientific discussion. I do see the NHS slowly walking back their prediction, with Dorian may hit the coast of Florida. I'm sure every one has their favorite model and the consensus conferences dealing with the official track.... must be "interesting".

I hope Canada, Mexico the UK, all have resources packed & ready to hit the Bahamas when they airstrips have been surveyed and an OK to land is approved.

and the eye of the hurricane has not yet reached Freeport. Then there's the other side yet to come once the eye passes by. Grand Bahama island is going to be completely devastated.

a few of the smaller strips on various cays, in a small private aircraft. Many are not far from the beach, most are at or a few feet above sea level. C-130's can land almost anywhere that's semi clear...they don't need much runway to operate safely from.

Distribution of supplies from there to the rest of the island was a nightmare.

https://money.cnn.com/2017/09/26/news/puerto-rico-flights/index.html

The Bahamas are lots of little islands spread out over miles and miles. It's going to be a logistical nightmare to get supplies to people and clean up.

It would depend of what heavy equipment is available, like runs and having the transportation & fuel to get equipment to landing strips.

Call the pros from the many humanitarian aid orgs, they can clear a runway in a jungle to get C-130's in and out in hours.

I'm sure Wall Street will send it their troops to protect the banks....

The Euro model keeps it just offshore FL, GA and SC making landfall on Cape Hatteras

The GFS has it in the Gulf of Maine next weekend making landfall in Nova Scotia (Yarmouth)

Te Euro model has it making landfall on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland (St. John's)

I mean, who needs to rebuild after a natural disaster? Isn't keeping out unwanted immigrants far more important?

In reality, the rebuilding could use immigrant labor.
