Chef Jose Andres travels to Bahamas to help with Dorian relief

Thank you, Jose Andres. Your a compassionate person and I wish that I was there to help you with your food kitchens.

Celebrity Chef José Andrés said on Sunday that he has arrived in the Bahamas and his charity has "kitchens ready to go and shelters mapped out" after Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the region earlier in the morning.

Andrés shared footage of himself in the Bahamas, where he said he was roughly 80 miles away from the eye of the Category 5 storm.

"Let's pray for everybody in Abaco and Grand Bahamas," Andrés said in the video as winds from the storm raged on in the background.

And did he bring his own food? I can’t imagine there’s much left there.

I would assume that since he was in the video during Dorian, that he, his crew and supplies got there before Dorian did.

I remember this was mentioned on Top Chef. There was no power after the Haiti Earthquake so he and his organization brought Solar grills and solar ovens to cook with. he is truly awesome.

I follow him on Twitter and he and his cadre of charitable chefs go all over the world doing this for people. With his white beard now he looks like Santa Claus and after suffering a tragic experience those who he feeds probably feel like he is Santa.
